Antwerp attracted 15 newcomers to the Scheldt city in a period of eighteen months, facilitating 300 job opportunities as a result. Amongst other organisations, Antwerp Headquarters was there to support the newcomers in any way they could.
Among the many businesses which have established themselves in the Docklands are Mood Media (creative sector) and TMO Global (logistics). Others have opted for the diamond district near the central railway station, in West Park or in Veldekens, the office complex at the Antwerp-Berchem railway station.
“Antwerp provides a hub for the logistical, maritime and chemical sectors,” maintains CEO Wim Van den Abeele. “Sixty per cent of the European consumer’s buying power is concentrated in a radius of 500 kilometres around the city.”
This week a huge billboard was erected against the wall of an apartment block in the Desguinlei, which is visible from the Antwerp Ring. It contains the self-portrait by Pieter-Paul Rubens accompanied by the tagline “Some great men have chosen Antwerp as their business headquarters before you.” What better way to put Antwerp even more in the picture?
