 On 23 May was the official opening of the International Training Centre on Corporate Opportunities (ITCCO) in Antwerp. ITCCO is a training centre guided by an important division of the UN for socially responsible enterprise.
Thanks to this centre AWDC (Antwerp World Diamond Centre) and the city of Antwerp will consolidate their position as diamond world centre permanently.
Milan and Tel Aviv, among others, were also in the running to attract the international centre. However, Antwerp had the most convincing plus points. The city is internationally renowned as a world diamond centre. The diamond and jewellery trade are precisely the areas the new training centre has in its sights.
What does ITCCO do
The institute is responsible for organizing courses that are accessible to anyone, aimed at stimulating businesses around the world to embrace Socially Responsible Enterprise. It also adopts an active research policy on Corporate Social Responsibility and offers companies advice.
