Antwerp Headquarters as of today will collaborate more intensively with Antwerp Port Authority, under the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two parties. In the meantime the City of Antwerp today reaffirmed its commitment to further develop Antwerp Headquarters under its policy of promoting sustainable investments.
Antwerp Port Authority too seeks to attract new investors to the port, and to this end the collaboration with Antwerp Headquarters is being intensified and formalised in a Memorandum of Understanding. "The MoU covers the exchange of information on potential investors in the shipping, manufacturing, logistics and service-related sectors," declared port alderman Marc Van Peel. "We will also collaborate in the relevant promotional activities. Both organisations have undertaken to benchmark the position of Antwerp as a port city, in order to attract multinational corporations. Particular attention is being paid to the factors that operate in favour of Antwerp as a location."
Further, the City is also making its Expat Service available to Antwerp Headquarters, and now also to the Port Authority. In short, the two parties will support each other in every possible way and take action as necessary to attract potential investors.
The City has additionally undertaken to develop a long-term investment policy through the agency of Antwerp Headquarters. "Attracting new investors to our city is a long-term business. We have to wait a long time between sowing the seeds and seeing the first shoots appear, and even longer until a good harvest is assured", explained Robert Voorhamme, alderman for Work & Economy and chairman of Antwerp Headquarters.
