 In order to better promote Flemish foreign trade relations, VOKA – Flanders’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched in 2005 the International Business Week. This event showcases the unique entrepreneurial trademark of Flanders to the wider international community. For the seventh edition of this International Business Week, Voka – Flanders’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry was proud to present one of Flanders’ most important export sectors: the Antwerp Diamond Sector.
Antwerp remains the leading centre in diamond trading, with 80% of all rough and 50% of all polished diamonds passing through Antwerp. On November 24th Antwerp Headquarters occupied a stand at the Antwerpsche Diamantkring, the worldwide leading bourse in rough diamonds trade, for an introduction to the brilliant world of diamonds. Presentations were held on the diamond sector with different booths and detailed explanation on step by step process of diamonds. During the network reception many Flemish politicians and business leaders had the opportunity to mingle and do business.
